If you watch Youtube on your phone a lot, or Netflix and happen to have a normal phone screen, you would be able to have a decent experience: the content is clear enough to make out (in most cases at least), the colors are pretty accurate and the viewing angles are good for a group viewing, without anyone having to deal with inverted colors. But the bezels around the display won’t allow for a great viewing experience that’s uncluttered and captivating, nor would the limited number of pixels be able to show large frames while maintaining a high-quality resolution, with deep black areas.
But if you happen to have a phone with an edge-to-edge display, you would be enjoying an immersive watching experience with all your favorite content: movies, shows or even videos recorded using a smartphone camera, all thanks to the large screen size with more pixels allowing for clearer video quality, not to mention the screen to body ratio that makes the screen almost cover up the entire front of the phone creating a cool floating effect that’s very immersive, especially because of the rounded corners of the display, giving it a more natural look that’s very easy for the eye to process.

Games rely on good visuals more than any other app category, not only to provide key gameplay elements but to also create stunning imagery to entertain the player and keep them playing, they also rely on the touch capabilities of the phone for controls, to make the game more intuitive to play without using other complicated inputs that could ruin the experience of mobile gaming.
So, it’s very obvious that games would benefit greatly from edge to edge displays, and that gaming on a phone with a larger screen would be on a next level compared to a regular smartphone, for a start the shape of the screen, which is the exact same as the phone itself, with the natural rounded corners and curves, creates a great sense of immersion unlike on any other device, which in turn enhances the interaction with the game itself, thanks also to the large touch area available for controlling the game, adding more options to enjoy the experience. The huge size of the screen undoubtedly also make playing better because it shows high-quality visuals, great colors, and smooth animations, all of which contribute to capturing the attention of the player so they don’t miss important elements within the game.

The huge screen to body ratio that edge-to-edge displays offer creates this awesome illusion making it look as if the user is holding just a screen, when they actually are holding an entire smartphone capable of doing a lot of things, and not only that, its screen allows it to enhance its capabilities greatly, for example, browsing through images becomes a lot smoother, and when looking at a particular image, it is magnificently shown on the best display technology available for smartphones today, with vibrant colors and deep blacks, which is also great for reading articles or e-books on the go, especially if night mode is enabled, which inverts the black and white colors, that makes it even better because it doesn't hurt your eyes as much.
