What Exactly is Soundcloud?

Soundcloud is a platform for sharing music, podcasts, mixes, or any other type of audio, if you are registered you can upload up to three hours of audio for free, and if you want more you can opt-out for a paid account that adds a number of features including advanced analytics. It was first created to give music artists a platform to easily share their work, but it quickly grew to have a lager user base due to it's ever growing list of features and benefits for artists, record labels and people who are generally interested in everything it has to offer.

How Does it Work?

You can start listening just by going to soundcloud.com and searching or browsing trough the charts of any genre, but if you sign up you'll be able to use the mobile app, like sounds, repost them and add them to playlists as well as following your favorite artists and receiving updates from them on your stream, in addition to discovering more sounds you might like using the new Discover feature that recommends tracks for you. Also recently added, Soundcloud Go is a music subscription service, similar to Spotify, that integrates with all of Soundcloud's features.
